Amigos de San Cristóbal - Friends of ‘Amigos de San Cristóbal
También para ‘Amigos’ el año 2009 está lleno de retos. El principal es seguramente asegurar el futuro a mediano y largo plazo de la organización. En una serie de reuniones de trabajo de la mesa directiva y de especialistas en asociaciones que se dedican a realizar labor filantrópica llegamos a la conclusión que debemos de realizar una serie de cambios para fortalecer a ‘Amigos’ dándole herramientas que le permiten realizar más y mayores obras ante las necesidades de mucho habitantes de nuestra región. La Asamblea Anual Ordinaria discutirá y decidirá los pasos a seguir y esperamos poder informarles en breve sobre los detalles. Queremos invitarlos a que renuevan sus membresías ya que sin ellas y sin sus donativos no sería posible nuestro trabajo.
The year 2009 will be full of new challenges for `Amigos´. Most importantly the focus will be setting up mid-term and long-term plans for our organization. After a series of “Amigos” board meetings along with specialists from other organizations dedicated to do philanthropic labor, the conclusion was reached in order to realize these goals, a series of changes will have to take affect in order to strengthen “Amigos”, in turn giving the association tools that will allow it to be more effective, accomplish and increase support to the inhabitants of our region. The annual Assemble will discuss and decide the procedure to follow, which we hope to inform members with the specific details. We would like to invite you to renew your membership given that without members and your donations our work would not be possible.

DESDE EL 2005 AMIGOS DE SAN CRISTÓBAL HA LOGRADO:
- HACER REALIDAD EL MEJOR CUIDADO DE LA SALUD Y UNA MEJOR NUTRICIÓN
- Para 450 niños beneficiados la UNICEF aprovó un programa suplementario de alimentación.
- Se pagó por medicinas y cuidado preventivo y capacitación sanitaria para 42 comunidades rurales Chiapanecas.
- Se redujo el índice de mortalidad de madres solteras embarazadas ya que recibieron especial cuidado pre y post parto.

- DAR ESPERANZA A NIÑOS DE FAMILIAS EN DESVENTAJA AL FUNDAR PROYECTOS ESPECIALES DE EDUCACIÓN
- Estudiantes de primero y segundo de primaria originarios de barrios pobres han sido motivados para experimentar el placer de la lectura, aprender acerca del trabajo en equipo y participar en programas sanos y divertidos.
- Adolecentes problematicos están aprendiendo responsabilidades personales, están siendo entrenados para aprender diferentes habilidades y trabajos para desenvolverse y ser útiles en la sociedad, así como aprender a respetar a los que los rodean.
- Gente joven de pueblos rurales remotos han sido proveidos de becas para ir a la universidad, lo cuál incluye hospedaje y tutoría.

AMIGOS GALA NIGHT!
A Special Benefit to Support Amigos de San Cristóbal,A.C.
100% of proceeds to be utilized or projects supported by Amigos de San Cristóbal, A.C.
La muy anticipada Noche de Gala de Amigos de San Cristóbal se llevó a cabo en el ya conocido Club Latinos el domingo 22 de Febrero de est e año. La noche ofreció una calida bienvenida, buena música, buen vino, pero especialmente, estuvo llena de algunos “bien vestidos” AMIGOS. Después de algunas palabras de bienvenida de Ertesto Riedwyl, la festividad comenzó con una variedad de salsa y jazz.
Eventos como este son una buena forma para que “amigos” e invitados se conozcan, relajen y se diviertan mientras se tiene la prioridad de recaudar fondos para donar a varias organizaciones que Amigos de San Cristóbal apoya. Gracias los organizadores, miembros de amigos, que ayudaron para hacer posible este evento. Un agradecimiento especial para Pépe Mijangos quien nos permitió tener este evento en su club además de tocar con su banda, lo que nos puso a todos en la pista de baile mostrando nuestros mejores pasos y movimientos de salsa. (O al menos lo intentamos).
P.S. Para seguir teniendo éxito con este tipo de eventos verdaderamente recaemos en la participación de los miembros poniendo nuestro mejor esfuerzo. Esto traerá más eventos como este en el futuro, recaudar más y más fondos que ayudarán a mucha gente.

The much anticipated Amigos “Noche de Gala” event that took place at the well known Latinos Club, Sunday February 22th. The night offered, good music, good wine but especially full of some well dressed AMIGOS. After a few words of welcomming from Ernesto Riedwyl, the festivity began with assorted latin salsa and jazz music.
Events like this are a good way to “amigos” and guests to gather, meet each other and relax and have a little fun, meanwhile still having the primary focus on razing funds for donnations to varyus organizations that Amigos de San Cristóbal supports. Thanks to the organizers, amigos members who helped make this event possible. Special thanks go to Pépe Mijangos who allowed us to have this event in his club as well as playing in his band wich brought us toghether on the dance floor where we showed off some of our best salsa moves. (Or at least we tried).
P.S. In order to further our success through this type of events we highly relay upon our members participation putting forth their best efforts. This will result in more events like these being seen in the future, raising more and more funds that will help many people.
See you at our next event and remember with Amigos de San Cristóbal not only can it be fun, but it is also for a good cause.
